Nurse Manager Cath Lab/Ep Lab

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Implements new/current policies and procedures in collaboration with appropriate s
  •  Planning, decision making and contributing policy formulation through management and nursing meetings
  • Plans, develops, implements and controls the annual budget for the nursing unit
  • Represents Nursing Services and actively attends and participates in various committees
  • Receive report and make rounds to nursing unit, identifies problems and triages needs accordingly.
  • Consults and coordinates with other departments to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patients needs, including admissions, readmissions and discharges, and changes of condition
  • Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.  
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the cardiac  patient population
  • Evaluates staff’s abilities to care for residents.  Addresses areas of unacceptable performance through coaching and/or disciplinary process

Education/Experience Requirements

Preferred: 

  • BSN or related degree
  • Two years experience in Critical  Care setting
  • One year experience in a supervisory capacity.

Job Summary

  Manages clinical and non-direct  care personnel. Takes appropriate action and interventions to changes or potential changes in condition. Consults and coordinates with staff, physicians, management team on patients problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure Patients needs are met.  Maintains performance improvement activities within the nursing services and participates in CQI activities.  Formulates unit budget.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Required:

  • Registered Nurse licensure in NYS
  • BLS

Preferred:

ACLS
