Mohawk Valley Health System affiliates Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) and St. Elizabeth Medical Center (SEMC) are accredited by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) under the National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (NIAHO) standards for compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Conditions of Participation (COPs).

HeartCARE Center: National Distinction of Excellence
The American College of Cardiology established the HeartCARE Center: National Distinction of Excellence award in 2018 to recognize hospitals that demonstrate a commitment to comprehensive high-quality culture. Accreditation is based on rigorous on-site evaluation of the staff’s ability to safely and effectively evaluate, diagnose and treat patients. 

Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Gold Plus with Honor Roll
The Stroke Center at the St. Luke’s Campus of MVHS is the area’s only designated Primary Stroke Center, received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Gold Plus with Honor Roll quality achievement award for the 10th consecutive year. 

ISO 9001:2015 Accreditation
Mohawk Valley Health System affiliates Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) and St. Elizabeth Medical Center are accredited by Det Norske Veritas’s (DNV) National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (NIAHO℠) and are certified to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Standard.Becoming ISO certified is an additional component of the DNV accreditation. 

DNV Certification – Comprehensive Stroke Center
MVHS has the highest level of treatment for serious stroke events and the St. Luke’s Campus is the best-equipped hospital in the area to diagnose and treat any kind of stroke or stroke complication. We’re one of only several Comprehensive Stroke Centers in Upstate New York and the only one between Syracuse and Albany.

Community Health Accreditation Program
Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Utica and Oneida County is a Certified Home Health Agency by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP).CHAP is an independent, nonprofit, accrediting body for community-based health care organizations, which accredits more than 8,300 sites with a purpose to define and advance the highest quality of community-based care.

Commission on Cancer
The Cancer Center is nationally accredited by the Commission on Cancer. The Commission on Cancer (CoC) is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients through standard-setting, prevention, research, education, and the monitoring of comprehensive quality care. 

Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International
The mission of CARF is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement services that center on enhancing the lives of persons served. For more than 40 years, the CARF seal has been the hallmark of quality in human services.
