A Comprehensive Healthcare System
The Mohawk Valley Health System’s mission is to provide excellence in healthcare for our communities. Our vision is to be the trusted healthcare system of choice through clinical quality, excellence in service and education, compassionate care, promotion of wellness and operational efficiency. We are a growing, thriving health system with a bright future that includes the opening of a new hospital – Wynn Hospital – in Downtown Utica in the Fall of 2023.
For more than 150 years, the Mohawk Valley Region of New York State has been served by one of three area hospitals. Over the course of time, these three healthcare organizations collaborated, then merged, and finally evolved into one health system – the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) – in March 2014. Today, this system has more than 4,200 (FTE) employees, an operating budget of more than $600 million, two hospitals and one long-term care facility. MVHS includes three main campuses and numerous locations in communities throughout the region.
MVHS provides a comprehensive continuum of services for the communities we serve including:
- Hospitals on the St. Elizabeth and St. Luke’s campuses which provide acute inpatient and emergency care services
- A regional dialysis program, and a regional cancer care center at the Faxton campus
- MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with 202 long-term care beds
- St. Elizabeth College of Nursing
- St. Elizabeth Family Medicine Residency Program
- Senior Network Health, a Medicaid Managed Care Program
- Visiting Nurse Association of Utica and Oneida County
- A Dialysis Program with seven outpatient centers
- Thirty-two primary and specialty care medical offices
