Job Summary

The Physician Assistant is responsible for providing competent medical care in accordance with the professional scope of practice and current regulatory statutes. As a PA you will be expected to perform hospital consults and rounds, take patient’s history, perform physical examinations, perform radiologic procedures (within scope of practice) under the supervision of a licensed Radiologist, treatment planning within the scope of practice and interpret physical, psychological and preventive health data to determine patient’s needs and problems. Able to prescribe medications as allowed by scope of practice and pharmacy formulary.

8. Attends monthly Medical Imaging department meetings when present and or requested; completes education program as requested or approved by MRG.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

REQUIRED:

  • Current New York license as a Physician Assistant with prescriptive privileges 
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program 
  • Current BLS certification is required 
  • Current ACLS certification is required
  • Current Registry R.T.(R) (AART) 
  • Maintain hospital privileges/credentialing where IR procedures are performed 
  • Within the 2 previous years have minimum of 1000 hours of practice following completion of training in area of expertise. Hospital-based training programs may be counted towards these hours.
