LPN - RNC, Clark North - Full Time (1.0) - Night

Department:  CLARK NORTH (CC 3140008)

POSITION SUMMARY: Assesses, plans and implements the nursing care of residents within the skilled nursing setting with the supervision of a Registered Nurse.  Responsible for ensuring continuity of care of the residents between shifts by providing direct care as well as supervising the care given by CNAs and supportive staff members.  Participates in resident and family teaching.  Maintains role as resident advocate with a focus on the facility’s mission.


EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:  Practical Nurse licensure in NYS.  One to two years’ experience in geriatric or acute care setting preferred.  BLS certified.


SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS, OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  Basic computer knowledge.  Must pass a medication administration test to pass medications. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:  Clinical nursing unit.  Class A OSHA exposure.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Heavy work demand.  Requires ability to stand, walk frequently, push/pull equipment, sit, bend, twist, squat and reach.  Frequently lifts greater than 50 lbs.


WORK CONTACT GROUP:  Medical staff, residents, visitors, regulation agencies, various departmental staff.
