Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Finance & Enrollment, performs a variety of specialized duties related to the assigned areas of Registrar/Bursar, Financial Aid and Alumni Relations.  The Registrar/Bursar must demonstrate a proven commitment of service to students, faculty, and staff and plays a significant role in implementing student information systems.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing financial aid counseling to students, families, and prospective students on all federal, state, and institutional student aid programs.  Responsible for the daily processing of student financial aid utilizing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), to include award packaging and the verification process.  Evaluate complex policies and procedures as they relate to professional judgement, Return of Title IV funds and Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
  • Interpret, apply and comply with federal, state and institutional regulations governing student financial aid; maintain working knowledge of guidelines/regulations related to financial aid.
  • Assist in completing federal, state and institutional reports (e.g. IPEDS and HEDS).  Maintain fund control records in accordance with funding level limitations.
  • Serve as secondary Destination Point Administrator (DPA) for federal electronic and online systems (e.g. ED Connect, ED Express, SAIG and NSLDS).
  • Assists in conducting exit interviews with all Seniors through instructional programs, credit counseling, and review of employment status post-graduation.
  • Assist in maintaining a current accounting and allocation of student fees each semester, in conjunction with Administration.
  • Manages and ensures the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the student information databases, student records and official transcripts. Maintains confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA. Certifies student loan deferrals and verifies enrollment for appropriate third parties. Processes official transcript requests for current and former students, according to College policy.

Education/Experience Requirements

Required:  AAS in accounting or related business field
Required: Working in a post-secondary environment, preferably a Registrar and/or Bursar Office

Preferred:  Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred: Two years of experience
