Coding Supervisor, Educator and Auditor - Full Time - Days
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of CDI & Coding the Coding Supervisor will maximize organization resources to effectively supervise the coding team. The Coding Supervisor will monitor coders for quality and productivity.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and establish competencies and work flows processes for coding staff. Ensure staff follows procedures, protocols, and processes.
- Provide training mechanisms and implement training modules
- Develop, review and recommend updates and solutions for work action standards
- Refer performance issues to senior management
- Evaluate processes, update, and implement new policies and procedure documents
- Perform other duties as required.
Education/Experience Requirements
Required:
- AS in Healthcare Information Technology
- 5 years in hospital coding
- Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, Official coding guidelines, DRGs, APCs, and documentation guidelines
- Familiar with encoders and groupers
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, organization, and coordinate multi priorities
Preferred:
- BS in Healthcare Information Technology
- 5 years in hospital coding and supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, organization, and coordinate multi priorities
Licensure/Certification Requirements
Required:
- CPC, CCS, RHIT
Preferred:
- RHIA
