Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Dialysis Technician provides basic nursing care to dialysis patients.

Core Job Responsibilities

Implement, monitor, and document patient care based on established criteria by NYSDOH and CMS
Assume direct patient care activities as assigned by Registered Nurses
Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis treatments in accordance with the unit policies and procedures
Check patient name band and identifies patient by name for any direct care activities, as observed by nurse manager or designee/supervisor
Properly sets up stations and brings patients to stations as scheduled and initiates dialysis treatment per policy
Assess patient appropriately within job description parameters and reports findings to the licensed personnel
Perform other duties as required.

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalent
Patient Care Technician national certification required within 18 months of initial training date

Licensure/Certification Requirements

PREFERRED:

Nurse Assistant Certification
