Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Dialysis Technician provides basic nursing care to dialysis patients.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Implement, monitor, and document patient care based on established criteria by NYSDOH and CMS
- Assume direct patient care activities as assigned by Registered Nurses
- Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis treatments in accordance with the unit policies and procedures
- Check patient name band and identifies patient by name for any direct care activities, as observed by nurse manager or designee/supervisor
- Properly sets up stations and brings patients to stations as scheduled and initiates dialysis treatment per policy
- Assess patient appropriately within job description parameters and reports findings to the licensed personnel
- Perform other duties as required.
Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Patient Care Technician national certification required within 18 months of initial training date
Licensure/Certification Requirements
