Director Radiation Oncology - Full Time - Days

Job Summary

The Director Radiation Oncology serves as the leader of clinical operations for Radiation Oncology at MVHS Health System. The role is responsible for leading all Radiation Oncology program operations including nursing, and other associated services that have a direct impact on operations, in accordance with the mission, vision, values and improving the overall patient experience at MVHS. The incumbent is accountable for the effective and efficient operation of areas of oversight which include operational, strategic, financial, and human resources duties. The Director Radiation Oncology partners with other clinical leaders to improve processes, quality, safety, patient experience, productivity, and efficiency of practice. 

This position serves as the strategic, programmatic, and operational leader for Radiation Oncology and is responsible to the Executive Director Oncology Service Line and works closely with MVHS employees and leaders

Core Job Responsibilities

Actively seeks opportunities to improve financial outcomes, engaging staff in the process.  Establishes annual financial goals and actively uses benchmarking to high performing systems in similar area of expertise to set annual targets.   Monitors and analyzes financial data and utilizes for decisions regarding FTE’s, staffing and operational budget.  Establishes an annual operating and capital budget, demonstrating fiscal responsibility through meeting budget targets.  Creates business plan(s), justifying variances and analyzing cost benefit of programs.  Contribute to the success of MVHS by providing leadership, direction and coordination of operations, finances, and human resources for area of responsibility.

Manage and direct all activities within area of responsibility.  Maintain records related to operations and services that are complete, accurate, available, and in compliance with all legal, regulatory, and policy requirements.  Interviews to select top talent, matching Radiation Oncology needs with appropriate skill sets.  Identifies lack of competency in performance and establishes a plan which includes goals, interventions, and measures.   Maintains membership in professional organization(s) to develop knowledge and resources through networking, continuing education, and participation in national, regional, and/or local activities. 

Education/Experience Requirements

Required: Bachelors degree in a relevant subject area such as Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
Preferred: Masters Degree.  Demonstrated Nursing experience in a clinical environment
