Distribution Supervisor - Materials Management - Full Time Evenings

Job Summary

The Distribution Supervisor oversees all functions and staff of Distribution and Receiving areas at the Wynn, St. Luke’s Home and Faxton.  Responsible for all ordering and receiving of stock and non-stock items. Maintains network of par levels at all facilities. Reviews and utilizes reports relating directly to the Material Management Department.  

Core Job Responsibilities

  • The Supervisor is a working team member who coordinates the daily work of an assigned group of employees.  Relays work instructions, distributes assignments and monitors work for quality and completeness.  Promotes effective teamwork throughout the department and assists staff through upcoming and ongoing changes.
  • Completes and approves work schedules in a timely and efficient manner.  Handles vacation requests and callouts.   
  • Responsible for orienting and training new hires.  Ensures all staff have the resources, tools and training necessary to fulfill their duties.  
  • Audits inventory transactions in Receiving and in Distribution. Identifies errors and takes corrective action.
  • Ensures Inventory is maintained in a timely and efficient manner to ensure all transactions are made within the preferred Material Management Department guidelines.
  • Responsible for changes, corrections and adjustments, request to add, change, or delete after review.
  • Interfaces directly with staff members of the user department to determine the need for additions or deletions to the Par-Level Replenishment System for their department.
  • Directs annual inventory, working with the assistance of the Inventory Control Clerk, counts, tabulates, and makes any necessary adjustments before final inventory valuation is processed. 
  • Logs Non-Conforming Product in a timely manner.
  • Follows MVHS and departmental policies and regulations, ensuring all activities are in compliance.
  • With the Manager and Human Resources guidance, provides input to or makes recommendations on employee hires, performance reviews, transfers, promotions, salary changes, disciplinary actions, terminations and similar actions. Resolves grievances and other staff problems in a fair, timely and consistent manner also in conjunction with HR.
  • Keeps department leadership updated on issues, problems and progress towards goals.
  • Perform other duties as required.
     

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:    
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field required or equivalent work experience.  
  • Minimum one year experience in distribution and inventory operations
  • Proven ability to lead, guide and motivate others.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Highly proficient with MS Office.
