EMS Coordinator - EMS - Part Time
Job Summary
To support the Midstate EMS Program Agency to ensure successful completion of NYS DOH Contract Deliverables. The position reports to the Midstate EMS Program Agency Director and will also work closely with EMS Personnel, EMS & Community Agencies, Healthcare Professionals, EMS Course Sponsors, Regional Trauma Advisory Committee, and the New York State Department of Health Bureau of EMS and Trauma Systems. The EMS Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for conducting quality assurance reviews, issuing controlled substance agreements in conjunction with the Mohawk Valley Health System, assisting and maintaining EMS Agency Files, among many other tasks.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Current certification as a NYS Paramedic
- Good standing with all necessary continuing medical education, as defined by the Midstate EMS REMAC
- Maintains record of Agency CME Coordinators, and schedules in-services as needed.
- Provides reports to REMSCO, REMAC and DOH as required or requested
- Appropriately represents the Midstate REMSCO, MVHS, FSL EMS Program Agency and Midstate REMAC at state local and department meetings.
- Assists with education of new providers and directors in the Regional EMS system
- Works appropriately with Regional Hospitals and Emergency Departments
- Coordinates and assists with the development of Resource Hospital issues.
- Provides EMS education to Regional Medical Control Physicians
- Monitors and develops Pre-Hospital quality assurance programs
- Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to juggle multiple tasks within a short time period.
- Reviews and prepares reports for issues submitted for review
- Arranges and interviews Providers, hospital staff to appropriately report to Regional QA Committee
- Presents CQI and new QA programs to Regional QA Committee and REMSCO
- Timely feedback to all involved in EMS QA issues
- Provides for remedial training as deemed needed or required by Regional EMS QA Committee
Education/Experience Requirements
Required:
- Good Standing within the Midstate EMS Region
Preferred:
- 3-5 Years of EMS Experience, Supervisory experience
Licensure/Certification Requirements
Required:
- New York State Certified Paramedic
- American Heart Association CPR Instructor
- Must obtain NYS DOH CLI certification within one year
