Electrician - Facilities Management - Full Time - Day Shift

Job Summary

The ability to understand and interpret the National Electrical code. Understanding of OSHA, Local, State and DOH codes and regulations as related to a hospital setting. Understand and carry out preventative maintenance programs.


Experienced in both single and three-phase power. Experienced in troubleshooting circuitry. Working knowledge of fire alarm, Nurse call, and building automation systems. Knowledge of “How to troubleshoot air conditioning and refrigeration units” including ice machines. Experience in bending conduit, safely pull cable and terminating wires/devices. Strong understanding of “How to use various testing equipment, amp meter, ohm meters, etc. Must be able to read blueprints and understand engineers' specifications and one-line diagrams. Experienced with high voltage. Experienced with 110/220 voltage and low voltage. Some general mechanical experience. Ability to perform heavy lifting and climbing. Ability to perform snow removal duties including shoveling salting and working knowledge of snow plow operations. Strong self-motivation is expected.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • 50% Work order response: to repairing or replacing electrical equipment of the facility. Typical equipment but not limited to lights/fixtures, receptacles/plugs, motors, circuit breakers, wiring, Nurse call, and fire alarm systems.          
  •  25% Preventive maintenance duties: Typical equipment but not limited to lights/fixtures, receptacles/plugs, motors, circuit breaker, wiring, Nurse call, and fire alarm systems.          
  • 15% Compliance with regulatory responsibilities: Ensure appropriate function is maintained to comply with various regulatory agencies. Exit sign maintenance, battery backup lighting maintenance, fire barrier repair.          
  • 10% Quality Improvement: to look for ways to improve the patient/visitor experience. Update lighting, make outlets more excisable, modify or move HVAC components or sensors for improve comfort.           
     

Education/Experience Requirements

Required:

  • High School or equivalent
  • 5 years of Electrical Experience

Preferred: 

  • Associates or higher degree
  • 3-5 years Healthcare Facilities or Trade Experience  

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Preferred: 

  • Journeyman Electrician license
