Environmental Services Tech II - Full-time - Evenings
Job Summary
Assumes responsibility and accountability for performing cleaning and service functions in resident and non-resident areas in the facility in a sanitary, disinfecting, safe and pleasant manner for the benefit of residents, visitors and employees. Work is performed in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations, facility policies and procedures, established regulatory and accreditation requirements as well as the philosophy goals and objectives of the facility and the Environmental Services department. This position differs from an Environmental Services Tech I by reason of advanced knowledge of cleaning methods, use of motorized equipment for floor/carpet care, and advanced skills needed for certain work environments. The Environmental Tech II has the latitude to supervise independently if required and assigned by the Plant Operations Manager or designee. The employee also performs other duties as requested such as Eden Alternative functions.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Performs cleaning and service duties in resident and non resident areas assigned as routine daily work to include all cleaning and service tasks as outlined in department procedures, in order to provide a clean and fresh environment.
- Follows all infection control practices including handwashing techniques, standard precautions, isolation precautions, and proper wearing of PPE's.
- Performs discharge cleaning duties in a timely and efficient manner, to provide timely turnaround of a room.
- Ensures mopping and cleaning solutions are changed according to department policy to ensure maximum effectiveness.
- Cleans and properly stores/stocks all equipment/carts/closets, to maintain appearance and provide protection for self, employees, and residents
- Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
- Maintains open lines of communication with Supervision and co-workers insuring proper and effective sharing of information.
- Reports all minor/major maintenance repair needs to appropriate personnel in a timely fashion (ex. blown bulbs, leaky faucets, walls in need of painting/patching, etc.)
Education/Experience Requirements
Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Must possess experience in carpet care, stripping and refinishing
Licensure/Certification Requirements
Required:
- NYS Drivers license required for use of company vehicles if applicable.
