GRANT ADMINSTRATOR
Job Summary
The Grant Administrator expertly manages elements of pre- and post-award grants; this includes: relationship building, proposal development; and management of grant deliverables across the grant lifecycle. The GC is responsible for supporting MVHS to achieve its funding goals and managing funds from federal, state, corporate and philanthropic foundations. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison to provide guidance and supervision of highly visible, sensitive, and multi-faceted projects related to grant and funding cultivation, solicitation, management, and stewardship; proposal and report development and submission; stakeholder engagement and management, and capacity planning. Projects are broad in scope and may involve multiple functional areas, staff, providers and leadership across all of MVHS.
Core Job Responsibilities
Pre Award Responsibilities:
- Research opportunities and devise approaches for dedicated funding for MVHS programs from Federal, State and local government.
- Facilitate proposal development and serve as lead to facilitate grant application response with content experts, grant leads, external vendors /consultants and community partners in preparing and submitting proposals within required timeframes
- Collaborating MVHS program teams to develop budgets and completion of financial documents
- Lead the MVHS grant operations committee and ensure the implementation of committee work plans
- Ensure portal access and compliance requirements for state and federal grant submission
- Assist in establishing, expanding, and maintaining relationships with funders, community partners, and MVHS staff; including cultivation and stewardship functions such as site visits and check-in meetings
- Meeting with Funders to discuss new and existing Grant opportunities and no-cost extensions
- Develop communication plans to build knowledge and awareness of grant-related practices and to ensure that grant/fundraising tactics are transparent across MVHS
- Provide detailed reports to grant committee of grant activities
Post Award Responsibilities:
- Serve as content expert for contracting and maintain control of all materials in the MVHS document repository SharePoint
- Coordinate with MVHS program/project teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of grant reports, including maintaining reporting schedules, sending report reminders, facilitating project team meetings, assisting in assessment and analysis of project outcomes; and writing, editing, and submitting reports;
- Assist department leaders and finance members to establish accurate tracking of grant expenses and reporting of budget-to-actual expenses relating to grant-funded projects; Maintenance and control of up-to-date grant budgets
- Maintain compliance with State, Federal and local Funders.
Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, a related degree, or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in grant research, writing, and application processes in health care setting, specializing in healthcare grant research, writing, and application processes
- Strong project management skills in healthcare setting
PREFERRED:
- Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration
- 10 years of experience in in health care setting, specializing in healthcare grant research, writing, and application processes
