Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the HIM Operations and Coding Compliance Manager, codes diagnoses & procedures according to the AHA guidelines for ICD-9, CPT-4, and HCPCS.  Groups DRG’s using provided software and compiles data for statistical reports.

Education/Experience Requirements

Required Education: Registered Health Information Management Technologist (RHIT),  Registered Health Information Management Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)(CCS-P).

Required Experience: 12 months experience in Medical Records Department

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Required Licensure/Certification: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CCS-P
