Job Summary
Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a dedicated and assiduous Interventional Radiologist APP to join our expanding, patient centered radiology team. This exciting opportunity provides the ability to practice the full spectrum of interventional radiology in a collaborative environment supported by experienced physicians, advanced technology, at a brand new, state of the art hospital. This candidate will be responsible for interpreting physical, psychological, and preventive health data in order to provide patient’s with exemplary care. Core Job Responsibilities
- Performs physical exams on all patients.
- Obtains and documents patient's medical history and identifies health risk factors.
- Obtains informed consent.
- Documents assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and foilow up care in the patient record.
- Document all findings, interventions, and results.
- Performs interventional radiology procedures within scope of license and as designated
by MVHS Medical Committee and department Radiologist. - Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, i.e., laboratory work, x-rays, EKG.
- Identifies situations that are beyond their expertise as an Interventional Radiology NP/PA
or scope of praclice and refers to the appropriate Radiologist. - Always applies standardized care guidelines in clinical practice.
- Collaborates with physicians, including practice site physician, and other members ofthe
health team to plan optimal care for the patient. - Responds appropriately in emergency situations and applies sound judgement and skill to
optimize patient outcome. - Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provides age appropriate, culturally sensitive care. o stays current with medical advancements, new technology, new drugs through continuing
education classes, society meetings, professional journals, etc. - Prescribes medications per state laws. Prescribes non-pharmacological therapies based
on the patient's diagnoses, health history, and age. - Follows the five medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
- Treats patients and families with dignity and respect.
- Attends all departmentar, organizational and medicar staff committee meetings, and
medical imaging activities as appropriate. - Maintains appropriate privileges.
Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program OR certification from an accredited NP program OR completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
- Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital priviledges.
- Knowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas.
- Familiar with EHR/EMR software.
Licensure/Certification Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Current NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges.
- Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.
PREFERRED:
- Active ANCC certification in relevant specialty
