MAINTENANCE MECHANIC II

Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position involves a variety of building maintenance and repair tasks of a skilled or semi-skilled nature.  Although employees in this position, by reason of personal training and experience, generally devote most of their time to work of a singled skilled specialized field, they are required to work in various other mechanical trades as the occasion demands.  In this respect the position differs from the positions of Mechanic 1 as it involves highly skilled knowledge of the electrical code and/or a specific licensure held by incumbent of this position.  The duties of this position differ from Mechanic 1  due to the more skilled nature of the work involved.  Incumbents perform their duties with a latitude for independent planning or laying out of work details.  Does related work as required.

Core Job Responsibilities

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS, OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Electrical – Strong Electrical Experience Required. Must have working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEPA70).

Plumbing – Must have working knowledge of local codes.

Must be available for an emergency call-in.

Education Requirements

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

High school graduate or GED

Minimum (4)  year’s electrician apprenticeship in the commercial industrial electrical trade at journeymen level.

Minimum  (4) years plumbing apprenticeship in the commercial industrial plumbing trade at the journeymen level and contain licensure for pesticides.
