Job Summary

PERFORMS A VARIETY OF IMAGING PROCEDURES AND IS RESPOLSIBLE FOR PATIENT SAFETY PROTOCOLS MAINTAINING STERIL TECHNIQUE. 

Core Job Responsibilities

DEMONSTRATES KNOWLEDGE AND PROPER OPERATION OF ANGIOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT INCLUDING PROPER SELECTION OF THECNICAL FACTORS, PROPER IDENTIFICATION OF RADIOGRAPHIC IMAGES, PROPER PROGRAMMING OF EQUIPMENT  AND PROPER PROCESSING OF RADIOGRAPHIC IMAGES FOR PERMANENT STORAGE.

 

RESPONSIBLE FOR REPORTING MALFUNCTIONING RADIOGRAPHIC EQUIPMEENT AND FACILITATING PROMPT REPAIR AS APPROPRIATE

 

POSITIONS AND PREPARES PATIENTS FOR ANGIOGRAPHY PROCEDURES  INCLUDING SHIELDING, ASEPTIC PREPARATION AND APPROPRIATE DRAPING FOR VARIOUS PROCEDURES

 

PERFORMS ALL ASPECTS OF PATIENT CARE IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT OPTIMIZES PATIENT SAFETY AND REDUCES THE LIKLIHOOD OF MEDICAL/HEALTH CARE ERRORS.

 

DENONSTRATES ABILITY TO ASSIST PHYSICIANS WITH PROCEDURES IN THE INTERVENTIONAL DEPARTMENT

 

TAKES CALL AFTER REGULAR HOURS ON A ROTATING BASIS FOR INTERVENTIONAL AND NEUROENDOVASCULAR PROCEDURES 

 

DEMONSTRATES AN ABILITY TO BE FLEXIBLE ORGANIZED AND FUNCTION WELL UNDER STRESSFULL SITUATIONS

 

MAINTAINS A GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIP BOTH WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT AN WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS 

 

HAS KNOWLEDGE OF HOSPITAL POLICIES AND THE FUNCTIONS OF THE OTHER DEPARTMENTS

 

PROVIDES CARE APPROPRIATE TO CONDITION AN AGE OF THE PATIENTS INCLUDING NEONATE, PEDIATRIC GERIATRIC AND THE GENERAL POPULATION

 

PRACTICES MEDICAL AND SURGICAL ASEPTIC PROCEDURES

Education Requirements

Required: SATISFACTORY COMPLETION OF FORMAL RADIOLOGIC  TECHNOLOGY ACCREDITED BY JCERT

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Required: NYSDOH RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST LICENSE, BLS 

ARRT (AMERICAN REGISTRY OF RADIOLOOGIC TECHNOLOGIST)
