Medical Service Coordinator/Data Entry - Maternity - Full Time - Days
Job Summary
The Perinatal Data Coordinator for Women's and Children's Services is responsible for correctly processing birth information through entry into computer applications and interfacing with sending and receiving points, specifically th New York State Department of Health and the Regional Perinatal Center. This individual is also responsible for report generation relative to the information processed. He/she plays a key role in communicating with the patient and the patient's significant other relative to the birth certificate process. Responsibilities also include completion of Acknowledgment of Paternity documents, Fetal Death Certificates and the processing of paperwork relative to the voluntary interruption of pregnancy.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
Formal training in data entry, and understanding of on-line data entry equipment. Must pay strong attention to detail, as well as possess good interpersonal skills.
SPECIAL EOUIPMENT, SKILLS, OR OTHER REOUIREMENTS:
Familiarity with computer software applications. Good organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:
Work performed in a modern, well-equipped office. Normal lights, heat, air and space in work environment. OSHA exposure class: B.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical: Minimal physical effort required; intermittent sitting and standing; occasional lifting, bending, reaching, stooping, pushing and pulling. Good visual acuity, hearing and musculoskeletal function.
Mental: Strong attention to detail required
