Job Summary

Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is currently seeking a BE/BC neonatologist to join our established team at the Wynn Hospital — a brand-new, 374 bed, state of the art hospital in Utica, NY. Position Highlights

Level 2+ NICU admitting down to 30weeks gestation
Over 200 admissions per year, ADC of 8, and a census that can flex up to 13
Family centered care with single patient rooms
Diverse pathology

Call room allows for either local or remote living opportunities
Unit is supported by neonatal-trained speech, occupational, and physical therapists.
Pediatric sub specialists are available by phone consultation, including pediatric cardiology.
ROP exams performed by in- house retinal specialist
Excellent and well-trained nursing staff
Attends c/sections and high risk deliveries; newborn nursery covered by pediatric hospitalist

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and successful completion of a residency and internship.
Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.
Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

REQUIRED:

Current NYS Certification/Licensure
Federal DEA Certification
Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty, Medical Specialty License or Certification if applicable
