Nuclear Medicine Technologist-Full Time-Days
Job Summary
Under the direction of a qualified physician the Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that require minimum independent judgement and initiative in the utilization of Nuclear Medicine for the diagnosis of disease.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Prepares stock solutions of radio pharmaceuticals and materials
- calculates and administers doses under the direct supervision of radiologist
- Calibrates equipment
- Performs diagnostic exams on patients as ordered by physician
- Uses scanners or scintillation cameras for detection of radiation emitted to produce image of an organ on photographic film.
- Measures radioactivity
- Instructs and prepares patient for the exam
- Perform other duties as required.
Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT or CNMT) or board eligible
PREFERRED:
Graduate of an AMA school of Nuclear Medicine
