Orthopedic Surgeon
Job Summary
MVHS is looking for a fellowship trained Orthopedic Total Joint Surgeon. Our current team of 3 orthopedic surgeons and 5 APP’s are looking to expand the orthopedic department. Can expect to ramp up quickly. MAKO robot available and program in place. Outpatient total joint program in place. The surgeon would be expected to handle all aspects of total hip and knee joint surgery. Must be able to perform complex joint replacement surgeries, including primary and revision procedures, trauma, infections, etc. General call is also required, however, there is an ortho trauma service to take over call cases if needed.

Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and successful completion of a residency and internship.
- Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
- Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.
- Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
- Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
- Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
- Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Licensure/Certification Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Current NYS Certification/Licensure
- Federal DEA Certification
- Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty, Medical Specialty License or Certification if applicable
