Physician Recruiter - Full Time - Days
Job Summary
The Physician Recruiter will be responsible for executing all phases of physician recruitment including but not limited to candidate sourcing, marketing, screening, offering and all related recruitment efforts.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary contact for physician candidates throughout the recruitment process, including facilitation of on-site interviews for the candidate, travel arrangements, assistance with position offer, and contract negotiations.
- Under the direction of the Director of Physician Recruitment and Medical Staff leadership, completes group practice profiles to support recruitment activities.
- Uses a variety of physician recruitment tools and technologies to attract, screen and source candidates.
- Reviews and assesses candidates' education, experience, training, and other qualifications. Presents candidates to hiring team members.
- Performs complex reference and background checks. Schedules interviews or site visits and provides information about the surrounding area.
- Communicates outcome of hiring decisions. With guidance from the Director of Provider Recruitment, prepares and extends contracts.
- Processes reimbursements for candidate expenses and assists candidates with relocation.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge base of community services, including schools, spouse employment opportunities as well as religious, recreational, and cultural opportunities. Makes connections with community leaders to help coordinate new physician start up activities.
- Develops relationships with local Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant programs and their program leadership teams in an effort to recruit.
- Attends national meetings for multiple specialties in an effort to recruit various Providers.
- Works in collaboration with the Provider Onboarding and Retention Specialist to ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
- Performs exit interviews with Providers prior to their last day and communicates findings to the Executive Leadership Team.
- Meets with NP/PA students during clinical rotations throughout MVHS and presents them with our career opportunities.
- Keep up-to-date records of recruitment efforts and provide updates to Senior Leadership.
- Responsible for communicating locums needs with Senior Leadership and contracting with local agencies.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years of experience in healthcare or in human resources.
- Ability to represent MVHS professionally in all interactions.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use sound judgement and discretion.
- Time management skills.
- Experience with databases, internet based tools and social media.
PREFERRED:
- Experience recruiting physicians for both employed and locums positions
