Job Summary

This position is responsible to correctly order exams and /or registration of patients for multiple modalities at both the Faxton Campus and/ or the Imaging Center. The position is critical to correct billing, reducing wait times and great patient satisfaction. Staff performs the tasks of a Receptionist Clerk and a Patient Registration staff member as needed: such as script compliance, ABNs, RHIO forms, collection of co-pays, and Consent for treatment,  Software used: QES, Logican, AS400, Pathways, Accureg, Rev. Runner, Order Facilitator, AllScripts  RIS, PACS. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Greets and Checks in Outpatients
  • Activates accounts as needed, enters orders in Series, and activates patients in RIS
  • Obtain ABNs and co-pays
  • Registers patient as needed
  • Prints schedules from QES/Tempus One
  • Prints scripts from Order Facilitator
  • Calls for Scripts from outside referring physicians
  • Obtains outside imaging exams for comparison
  • Answers phones, faxes, reports, and distributes incoming faxes
  • Takes film/CD requests and processes requests
  • Tumor Board: calls for films and turns into Radiologist for review
  • Maintaining patient film files and pertinent imaging records upholding patient confidentiality
  • Requests films from Iron Mountain to be delivered in a timely manner for film comparison
  • Digitize films including outside films
  • Distributes Medical Imaging reports to Referring Providers
  • Distributes department mail
  • Logs Films/CD’s in and out in Log Book
  • Assists patients, technologists, Radiologists and medical staff as needed
  • Any additional duties assigned by Operations Manager, Supervisor or Department Director

Education Requirements

Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: 1 year office experience, Computer Literate, Medical Terminology, Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills, Bi or Multi-lingual
