Rehabilitation Aide - Full Time - Days

Department:  PHYSICAL THERAPY

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Therapeutic Recreation or designee and supervision of the certified Recreation therapist, the Recreation Therapist Assistant organizes and implements daily activity programs, exercises, games and special events for residents. Programs include individual, group and independent programs based on resident need, interest and individual capabilities.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Execute recreational activities for residents under the supervision of the certified recreation therapist 
  • Organize and prepare materials for arts, events, and other activities
  • Safeguard, motivate and assist residents with activities
  • Foster inclusive and creative methods for resident participation
  • Perform other duties as required
     

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:
  • High School Degree, or equivalent.  
PREFERRED
  • Associates Degree in related field
  • Experience working in a geriatric setting
  • Experience working with people with disabilities/limitations
