Job Summary

The Stewardship & Special Events Coordinator will develop, coordinate and implement the stewardship activities of the Foundation and assist in the identification and cultivation of annual and major donors and support the acknowledgement of donor gifts and donor participation. 
This dynamic position requires a confident professional who is able to effectively steward our donors and also plan events for Mohawk Valley Health System Foundations.

 

The position requires strong written and oral communication skills; the ability to think strategically; plan and manage multiple activities, prioritize, and work under pressure. 

Core Job Responsibilities

  • The Stewardship & Special Events Coordinator performs duties associated with the stewardship of donors including but not limited to: Promising our donors that we are using their gift as we have said we would; Managing their gift prudently; Documenting their gift properly; Acknowledging their gift; Providing appropriate, appreciative and appreciated recognition; Demonstrating the impact of their gift; Providing thank-you initiatives to make them feel good about their gift and our organization; Coordinating the production of committee reports, agendas and correspondence; Assisting in the identification and cultivation of annual and major donors; Coordinating Stewardship activities in collaboration with the development team; Implementing and monitoring all donor stewardship activities; Staff fundraising activities and special events beyond the scope of the regular work week; Representing Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare in the community, making presentations and solicitations of sponsors.

 

  • The Stewardship & Special Events Coordinator performs duties associated with the coordination and execution of special events including but not limited to: Coordinating Special Events on behalf of Mohawk Valley Health System, while recognizing that the primary purpose of special events is to cultivate and educate attendees so that they will become donors, or increase their level of giving to MVHS; Planning and overall coordination and implementation of the Golf Open and Prohibition Party; Working with the Marketing and Communication Department and Development team to plan and execute brochures, invitations and media surrounding events.

 

  • Work with the Foundation team to turn event participants into donors; Developing opportunities for event participants to meet with members of the MVHS team, physicians and staff; Solicitation of sponsorships and acknowledgment of sponsor gifts; Monitoring income and expenditures for each event through Raiser’s Edge fundraising software.

 

  • The Stewardship & Special Events Coordinator performs duties associated with office support including but not limited to: Accurate data entry of all gifts received into RE fundraising software; Assisting as needed in charging and batching daily credit card charges for all events and activities; Supporting the development team as needed with daily gift entry.

 

  • The Stewardship & Special Events Coordinator performs duties associated with the coordination of volunteers including but not limited to: Working with and coordinating volunteers for various Foundation activities; Coordinating the production of committee reports, agendas and correspondence; Coordinating volunteer committees and follow-up activities; Identifying, recruiting, training and working closely with fundraising volunteers in various fundraising efforts.

 

  • The Stewardship & Special Events Coordinator performs duties associated with teamwork and coordination including but not limited to: Collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary health care team for the purpose of achieving quality patient outcomes through Philanthropy; Recognizing the value, knowledge, expertise, insight and contribution of each member; Utilizing methods of collaborative decision-making, accommodation, negotiation, coordination, shared accountability, and consensus building to enhance interdisciplinary team-work. 

 

 

 

 

Education/Experience Requirements

Required:  Associate's Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations or related field
Preferred:  Bachelor's Degree
