Sr. Learning and Development Specialist - Full Time - Days
Job Summary
The Sr Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating learning solutions that support employee success, leadership growth, and organizational performance. This role manages training and coaching initiatives, leads new employee orientation, and oversees recognition and engagement programs that strengthen culture. Works closely with leaders across the hospital to assess development needs and build effective training pathways.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate learning programs that support clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Facilitate leadership development workshops, professional skills training, and team-building sessions.
- Conduct training needs assessments and partner with leaders to develop solutions that improve performance and engagement.
- Maintain a library of training resources and ensure content is current, relevant, and accessible.
- Provide 1:1 coaching and development support for employees and leaders.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Organizational Development and provide backup coverage during absences to ensure ongoing support for training, engagement, and development initiatives.
- Lead and continually improve New Employee Orientation.
- Develop, implement, and manage employee recognition programs that reinforce culture and values.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, action planning, and culture-building activities.
- Facilitate team assessments, conflict resolution discussions, and problem-solving sessions as needed.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field; experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a learning and development role.
- Technical proficiency with technology, HRIS systems and MS Office tools.
PREFERRED:
- Experience facilitating training and coaching in a healthcare or service environment
