Job Summary

Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is currently seeking a Thoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Clinician to join our team. This full-time, hospital-employed position offers the opportunity to collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the inpatient setting. The schedule is Monday through Friday, offering an excellent work-life balance. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with a NYS License. Core Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of thoracic conditions and surgical procedures
• Conduct daily patient rounds, provide ongoing patient education, and assist in the coordination of multidisciplinary care
• Prepare and complete detailed admission history and physicals, progress notes, consults and discharge summaries with appropriate documentation in the medical record
• Responsible for bedside procedures including thoracentesis and chest tube insertion/removal
• Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans under the supervision of the thoracic surgical team
• EPIC EMR with Provider Support Team

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:    

• Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program OR certification from an accredited NP program OR completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
• Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital priviledges.
• Knowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas. 
• Familiar with EHR/EMR software.   

Licensure/Certification Requirements

REQUIRED:    

• Current NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges.
• Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.

PREFERRED:

• Active ANCC certification in relevant specialty
