Surgical NP/PA

Job Summary

Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is currently seeking a General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join our team. This full-time, hospital-employed position offers a balance of outpatient clinic and inpatient rounding responsibilities, working alongside an experienced surgical team to deliver exceptional care. The APP will provide pre- and post-operative management, assist in surgical cases, and support patients throughout their care. Candidates must be Board Certified with a NYS License. Core Job Responsibilities

• Academic Institution with both Medical Students and General Surgery Residents
• Work with a dedicated Physician
• Diverse patient population
• Steady referral of new patients
• 14 OR’s with 2 Da Vinci Robotic Surgical Systems
• Will manage inpatient services and new consults
• Will assist with post-op and low acuity outpatient visits
• Opportunity for growth and additional responsibilities
• Operative experience is not required

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:    

• Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program OR certification from an accredited NP program OR completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
• Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital priviledges.
• Knowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas. 
• Familiar with EHR/EMR software.   

Licensure/Certification Requirements

REQUIRED:    

• Current NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges.
• Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.

PREFERRED:

• Active ANCC certification in relevant specialty
