Value Analysis Coordinator - Full Time - Days

Job Summary

The Value Analysis (VA) Coordinator serves as the program and operational coordinator for the Supply Chain Value Analysis Team.  The scope of this role is supplies, equipment and services.  This position is responsible for facilitating select Value Analysis teams to drive organizational product and service selection. Example activities include: research products and/or services, obtain samples, set up structured trials, drive evaluation effort (compares patient safety, product quality, and total cost), work with vendors, drive issue resolution internally as well as with manufacturers and vendors, facilitate meetings, train team leads and team members, implementation and education, post implementation follow-up, documentation and communication. Advocates for product and service standardization and unwarranted clinical variation. Drives team to decision using a structured, objective approach.  The Coordinator will be responsible for organizing incoming New Product Requests (NPRs), ensuring compliance with system processes, building project plans, have a strong focus on relationship building, and have the ability to effectively communicate with various levels of the organization.  The Value Analysis Coordinator works under the direction of the Director of Materials Management.    

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of a highly effective value analysis process.
  • Provides guidance to materials management and clinical staff to achieve standardization, elimination of waste, process improvements, and reduction of supply consumption.
  • Prepares reports to support clinical evidence, internal product trials, educational program collaboration, in-service compliance, and clinical initiative progress.
  • Collaborates with all departments as necessary to obtain clinical input, clinical product recommendations, in-service and educational coordination for various departments including but not limited to clinical, health information systems, and reimbursement.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact responsible for ensuring approved product(s) submissions are tracked, logged, and vetted by the appropriate teams. 
  • Coordinate clinical and subcommittees education meetings as needed. 
  • Create item “Look books” to support the Value Analysis Process. 
  • Manages New Product Request Committee Presentation Preparation Process including but not limited to: 
    • Review and validate request  
    • Coordinate next steps with appropriate parties  
    • Prepare power point presentations 
    • Data collection and presentation
    • Communicate to internal and external stakeholders as needed 
    • Prep clinical champions for meeting presentations.  
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities for the value analysis process.
  • Promotes clinician and administrative satisfaction as it relates to the supply chain value analysis .
  • Perform other duties as required.
     

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:    

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business or equivalent and 2 years of experience, 
    • OR 7 years of equivalent experience in value analysis, contract management and/or supply chain project management in a clinical environment, 
    • OR a RN with a good working knowledge of equipment and supplies used in all areas of a hospital.
  • Demonstrated project management, analytical and quantitative skills including data gathering, organization, assessment, reporting and presentation.  
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel required, proficiency with MS Office tools.

PREFERRED:

  • Ability to effectively present new tools and products to clinicians.
