Sonographer- Ultrasound - Per Diem (0.20) - Varies

POSITION SUMMARY:  Under the direction of a radiologist, performs  sonography procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.  Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity to apply prescribed sonography for diagnosis.  Assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures as required.  May have individual responsibility for specified sonography procedures and/or may be assigned as an instructor.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

High school graduate or equivalent.  Satisfactory completion of formal sonography training through an accredited sonography program.

Experience necessary.  ARDMS certified or ARDMS certification within 2 years of hire

 

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS, OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to continue maintaining credits to keep up ARDMS registry once it is obtained.  Must have some experience in sonography. 

Must be able to operate sonography equipment.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.  Must be able to lift and transport patients on a daily basis.  Must be able to bend, stoop, pull, pull, push, and will be walking and standing most of day.

Must have use of all limbs.
